iReady Inform (Previously iReady Diagnostic) Testing

Testing will be divided into two days for each subject to give students the time they need to do their best.

Reading: Tuesday, August 18 & Wednesday, August 19

Math: Thursday, August 20 & Friday, August 21

Make-Up Testing: Week of August 24

Families can help students prepare by making sure they eat a healthy breakfast, charge their Chromebook each night, and bring a pair of wired headphones to school each day.

OPEN HOUSE & GENERAL PTA MEETING

September 1st (6pm), JME Cafeteria

Our first PTA Meeting and Open House will be Tuesday, September 1st at 6pm in the JME Cafeteria. Following a brief meeting in the multi-purpose room, parents will have the opportunity to attend an informational session with teachers.

We will have two 20-minute sessions, so large families may have to "divide and conquer." The event is geared towards parents, so if possible, children should not attend. However, we don't want anyone to miss so children can accompany parents if necessary!

Mark your calendars for JME's annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, September 13 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the cafeteria. Enjoy ice cream served by JME teachers. Activities include face painting, games and fun with school friends! This event is free for all JME families, and allergy-safe treats will also be provided.

JOIN the SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT COUNCIL (SIC) at JME!

The School Improvement Council of JME is currently looking for parents who will have children at our school for both the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years to fulfill a two-year term on the Council. Meetings are held monthly at JME in the evening. You may nominate yourself or someone you know. The primary responsibilities include:

Meet monthly to discuss issues affecting our children’s education.
Help to develop, monitor, and evaluate the JME Five-Year School Improvement Plan.
Advise on the spending of incentive funds if the school receives an award.
Assist the Principal in writing a narrative for the Annual Report to Parents (Spring 2024 & 2025).
Participate on one of JME School Improvement Council’s subcommittees. The SIC runs school-wide events such as the Bike Rodeo, International Night, Walk to School, and Virtual Adventure!
